Originally part of Warwickshire, Coventry is now part of the county West Midlands and is the 10th largest city in England having a population of over 300,000.
Coventry is located approx 90 miles from central London and is just under 20 miles away from Birmingham. It has excellent transport links and is served by a train station and extensive bus networks.

Coventry is famous for being the first ever ‘twin city’ when it joined with the city of Volgograd during World War 2, this was an attempt from the people of Coventry to show their respect to the Soviet Army during a battle with the formerly known Stalingrad. This set a precedent for the city who is now twinned with a further 22 cities.

Coventry Cathedral was built recently following a previous destruction during the 1300s and in the 1940s. This is a notable place to visit in Coventry and attracts many visitors each year.

Among other sites of specific interest are the two universities that serve the city. Coventry university and the University of Warwick, both have excellent reputations within the UK and offer a variety of courses for their thousands of students collectively.
